Medical Walkers - Choosing the Adult Walker

Sometimes we all require at least a modicum of assistance. Medical walkers and adult walkers can make all the difference between living with a disability and missing out on life! A variety of considerations come into view when determining which adult walker to use:

  • Height of the medical walker - adult walkers need to be higher than walkers made for children or extremely short people. Posture is very important and you don't want to further injure yourself!
  • On a Roll? - rolling medical walkers offer reduced friction for active people, but they also require a heightened level of awareness and strength due to the added mobility. Don't let this point slip away!
  • Heavy duty walkers - depending on your weight, you may need a sturdier walker to get you where you need to go as safely as possible. Don't be ashamed to get the right size walker for your body.
